MARCO ISLAND INSHORE FISHING CHARTERS

Flats Charter Fishing

Picture
If you like a good scavenger hunt, this trip might be for you. This tour might also be for you if you are new to salt fishing or feel you are inexperienced. We will stay close to shore and traverse no more than a mile from the coastline, always keeping the shore in vision. Don’t be fooled into thinking the waters aren’t rich simply because they are more shallow! Fish are abundant in these areas and there should be plenty to keep you busy.

Because we will be in the bays and inlets of the protected intracoastal area, the water will indeed be shallower and you’ll be able to see the fish easier, but that means they can see you too! So stealth is crucial in this particular environment. A smaller boat will give you the ability to get into hard to reach and more shallow places, which in turn gives you access to more opportunities to catch fish!

You’ll need Marco Island fishing guides with real experience who know how to read the signs and conditions of the weather and water to identify where you will have the best possible biting patterns.

You’ll be hugging mangrove islands and cruising past inlets and looking for signs and activity of bait fish to try to find your next catch. Watch out for splashing at the water’s surface as the bait fish ball up trying to escape their predators. Those predators are the fish we are seeking! Cast your line in near here and your chances of bagging a fish increase. Your Captains know the lay of the land and are eager to get you to the best spots.

With an inshore fishing charters in Marco Island, otherwise known as flats fishing, you are likely to enjoy a little more time with your line in the water since there’s less boat travel to the fishing destination. Another advantage is the likeliness of seeing other wildlife is high. Birds, marine mammals, and other aquatic life are often visible. Some fish species you might be able to expect to catch include Snook, Sea Trout, and Redfish.
